The only mistake repeated was………….

The Only Mistake Repeated Was………….

Some times lust is mistaken for love and many people fall victims of this. What can only explain this is; love is hard to define or notice, learn or teach. At times, some going through a certain phase of life often confuse it with love. This magical experience called love involves body chemistry and physics only explicable by the intelligence of the heart. It ceases the brains to function, in this condition one thinks with his heart and not the head. Love is an emotion; sentiment or feeling that is hard to tell what it is exactly not only to the population of this generation but even was to our fore fathers. Many writers, great-thinkers and philosophers have come and gone, born or died without placing a single button that would solve the puzzle.
History steps in; to help shed some light to the dark spots of love, so we can see the mistakes committed in courses of our lives. To have second chances to correct our mistakes and right our wrongs. That’s how fair history is. However, not until you realize your mistakes and correct them, the same circumstances are going to keep following you consequently if you don’t learn your lesson, you will be doomed for extinction.
A low profile cashier at small store in small town, his name was jack. He worked seven days a week, twelve hours a day and he parties three nights a week. At parties he portrayed himself as a prominent, well educated business man. That was in disguise. One day jack was out at a party in the upper side of town, where spoilt kids of the tycoons of the town would go, have fun and drink very expensive liquors, whisky and wines.
He reached the bar when his friends were just leaving, since he had just stepped in, he allowed them to hop to another bar without him. He proceeded to the counter to grab himself a drink. Looked around, the place was flooded by a great deal of the feminine version of men. Some were well-defined ladies, jumpy high school girls, university students and sluts. It was had to differentiate though. Jack had pride in his head that was irrelevant at times, he had fantasies running through his head all night but pride could not permit him to pursue his desires.
Stranded at the bar counter like he was waiting for a bus at the stop in a threatening to rain weather and didn’t know where to take asylum, here came in a girl, not so bad, his eyes could tell. She pretended to buy a drink, but with her eyes all over jack, he was convinced she liked him then, “hey, how are you”, she greeted jack, “am! …ok” he replied, “what are you doing in a bar by yourself beautiful man?” She asked.” Taking my favorite drink.. Are you alone?” Jack continued. “Well! Do you see any man around me,” just curious”, he answered. “Can you offer me a shot of tequila please”, she pleaded to jack, “fine, tequila for the lady please”, and jack asked the barman.
Before she could sip, she spilled it on the counter, lines of expression crossed jack’s face.” Am so sorry dear, it was not intension”, she cried out to jack for forgiveness. Then sweetie… can I get another please? Jack not saying a word got into his wallet and paid for another. A moment of silence covered the two. The Disk joker broke the block of ice and tension that had froze between them, he played jack’s favorite song. “Shall we dance?” he asked her, it will be a pleasure any way I thought……. you won’t say a word till the sun comes up. In a nice toned voice she replied. H ah, he laughed and they had fun…..
The song came to an end and they had to rest. There were three fat girls behind jack, they had no drinks and neither of them was talking. Jack noticed and continued with their conversation. Suddenly she excused her self to the rest rooms, jack had realized one of his wallets was missing but not sure of who could have taken it.” I have to take this girl home no matter what, and I have to at all costs. Jack was determined. Thinking she had disappeared, turning round, there she was at the spot she was before.
“I have to work tomorrow and am going home to rest right now! Where are you going to from here, to another bar or you want to come with me?” jack provokingly asked, “let me finish my beer”, she hesitantly answered. Jack stood there; looking at her thinking of what he should do next, not a single piece of his brains could bail him out of the situation. Thinking deeply about it, why can’t I just leave her where she found me? Jack asked himself. “Are you coming with me or not, I need to get home now”, jack in a deep, tough but yet a low voice demanded to know. Alright let’s go, where are we going any away and how? She asked, we are going to my place and by a special bike, my wallet has been robbed I don’t have enough for a cab. Jack answered.
They were rode to jack’s place in to his bed room, he remembered all that he had gone through all night and thought she should pay him back in a currency equivalent to a piece of her that any one of the same specie would treasure. Can we get nasty? Jack asked like he was expecting…. Touching and rubbing all over her, she was hesitant at every thing. “It’s going to cost you”. She said. What? Cost me? I thought we are here to have fun, no my dear. So how much is going to be? Jack asked. A hundred bucks only. No, no! This can’t be and what am I buying any way? Jack asked. “Sorry! But nothing is for nothing you know”, she said. Jack couldn’t stop persuading her to allow his way. That’s how he saw to pay himself back. Finally she accepted but jack couldn’t stand for a second. Tired, exhausted and all stressed out, they collapsed into each others chests and fell asleep till morning,
Jack woke up first; she was dead asleep. She couldn’t move a muscle. Jack had to report to work that morning. He went to the bathroom and took a shower, got prepared for work but she had hardly turned. Looking all innocent and at peace, jack wondered about that to do with her. Should I leave her sleep, throw her out, he just didn’t know the right thing to do. He hurriedly ran to a store to buy some thing for her to eat when she woke up, brought and closed all doors of the house. The only ways he left for her were from the bed room she was sleeping in to the bathrooms. At the back of his mind, he knew it was a risk he was taking and indeed a worthless risk not worth taking.
Destructed by his heart, he took it any way though he was not settled at work as his conscious kept on warning and alerting him of the danger about to break out but couldn’t understand the signals. He woke up from a dream that was already turning into a nightmare. He closed the store. Only to get home when it was too late for the rescue mission to succeed, entering the house, he was welcomed by a mug that was forgotten behind when the robbers were sweeping his house empty-clean, getting to the bed room where his guest was resting, neither did it have any content as the open windows, doors and empty space saw jack collapse and lay on the floor unconscious. He woke up, and had to find refuge at a friend’s place, a friend he like and admired romantically.
Jack still had some little money in the bank. He used it in a meanwhile as he looked for another place to stay. He got the apartment he was looking for with the help of his friend. Before he paid for the apartment, he lost is job, a lot of tension and pressure mounted on him. This froze his plans in motion. Every thing around him for the moment seemed to be moving too fast. In the process, before he could secure a job, his friend (Cathy) was tired of taking care of a big man like jack. She politely asked him to find some where else he could stay as he solved his problems.
Jack was stranded. He didn’t know where to begin from. He neither had a job, a house, nor money to sustain him for the next few days. He hardly new what he was to have for lunch or dinner. It was all up to God. One day, the sun was setting in the west like always, it was becoming dark and the day was winding up its routine but jack didn’t know where he was going to lay his head to rest. He had been thrown out that same day by his friend.
Thinking so hard, he remembered of his junior high school friend. His name was Barry. They were very close friends back then, they shared every thing. They sat on the same desk; they eat together and helped each other in every possible way. Since jack’s options had exhausted, he carried the few bags that he had to Barry’s door. He knocked once, and twice Barry opened for him. Barry was very surprised to see jack seeming to be shifting with all his bags to his place. “Eh! Jack come in, am surprised to see you this late with your bags. What brings you here after this long?” Barry asked. Am! “You see Barry! Am in deep trouble”, jack started narrating his story to Barry
As a friend, Barry was not that heartless, he accepted to take jack in as long as he was going to start looking for a job immediately and contribute some money to pay rent every month. Jack seemed to have no problem with the arrangements. As time went by, the landlady and these two tenants started to have problems. Consequently they had to find another place. Jack had gotten a job already but it was not paying him well. He could hardly meet the share he had to contribute to pay for the new place. He borrowed the money and gave it to Barry to pay since he always worked late to earn some extra income.
They got the place. Jack picked up and stabilized. At least he no longer had to worry about what he was going to have for lunch and dinner was guaranteed. Though he could now meet his basics with no difficulties, he still couldn’t have a penny to save. Barry had some money but didn’t know where to invest it if he wanted to make some more before it was all used up. Though jack didn’t have the money, he had the brains and perfectly knew what kind of business they could start up with the little they had. He thought, he would invest in his knowledge, when the business expands, he would be able to get capital to start his own and leave this to Barry.
Although they had agreed, Barry had his own intentions and plans besides what was agreed upon. The business was started with jack the brain behind its success. After it had started to do well, now they where able to earn from their hard work, Barry started to plot how to get rid of jack before he settles to start his own business. He began by trying to disorganize and divert him from plans that were to give him the basis. He took advantage of the fact that jack was rarely at the store. Whenever he came back, all he would tell jack was nothing but the problems he was possibly fabricating. Jack realized he had to find some thing he would do and get involved in by himself. He knew there was some thing fishy going on. He realized Barry was planning something against him. Therefore he had to act before it was too late.
If it was a bus that jack had to take, it had already left him and if it was an appointment, he was late for the session. Before jack could organize to leave the house he was sharing with Barry, Barry tricked him. He called the girl friend to pretend like she wanted to move in with him. He proposed to jack that they get a bigger house. Jack didn’t have enough money at his exposure though he had nothing against it and knew there was where the idea was coming from and perhaps leading him. Knowing that, jack did not have to wait or waist any other second. He talked to Barry, trying to make his position clear. Barry was listening with both ears open. One allowing in whatever jack was saying and the other letting them out.
One day Barry came back home with news. News that did not sound so good to jack’s ears. He told him how their landlady had talked of raising the rent starting with the following month. And that he was moving out immediately, he couldn’t wait. Hearing this, jack panic a little. First, he confirmed his suspicions though he had not yet gotten the clear signals of the game played. The following day, jack packed his bags and left the house as the first thing he did that morning. He dropped them off at his family house and then proceeded to work place.
Just a few days later, jack ran into Barry’s girlfriend. Eh! “Jack long time no see my friend, you don’t even come to visit”. She complained to jack. Am really sorry about that! But you see, to be honest I don’t even know where you guys stay these days and I have not seen Barry in a while. Jack answered to her query. But! What do you mean you don’t know where we stay these days? Are you telling me you forget so fast like that? That you have already forgotten the way to the house where you even used to stay? What do you mean by that? I thought you guys shifted the moment I left! Jack asked. No we didn’t move an inch. We are still at the exact house where you guys used to. She replied. Okay then! I will come and visit some time. “It was nice running into you again. Send my regards. I better run to work now before my boss starts looking for me”. Jack excused himself. It’s okay, consider message delivered. Bye and take care. Barry’s girlfriend wrapped up the conversation.
Jack’s conversation with Barry’s girlfriend confirmed his suspicions with out doubt that Barry really wanted to get rid of him completely after they had put some business on ground. Still he could barely do anything. Jack had to forget the past not to torment him and start all over again. He did just as his brains told him to; he stayed home without doing any thing to relieve himself of all the anguish he felt inside him. Then started on the job hunt, in a few days, jack was working in a reputable company and there he was on his feet again. Jack started majoring in online businesses and internet or online marketing. This time it seemed like its trouble that looked for jack and not the other normal way round.
