what is real beauty

Beauty Lies In the Eyes of the Beholder
Beauty is one of words that most people apply in sentences and statements they make referring to how nice or pleasant some thing or some one is, especially if what or who is referred to is feminine. That is when appreciating or implying they are impressed by what they see. Beauty as a term has a dictionary definition like any other English word but, when one is asked randomly questions like; what do you understand by the word beauty? Or how would you describe it? What are the aspects that make a woman beautiful? The answer that will flash on to the respondent’s mind first will be; the visual impression that one gets or what strikes you at once on setting your eyes on the subject of the question. With reference to a woman, this will mean considering her bodily looks, height, weight on scale, shape and length of her hair, however different people define it differently.

At times beauty can be what is sought by some people in others' faces, hands, body or heart.
To other people, in their understanding, beauty is represented by beauty pageants, girls on magazine covers, fashion models on run ways, movie stars and musicians, not minding whether that’s their natural outlook or not.
Surveys have it that; many women’s confidence and worthiness of their natural beauty is greatly affected by the portrayal of beauty on bodies and faces they see on television commercials or magazine pages. That’s why some opt for drastic measures in order to fit in that lane of beauty portrayed.
To attain such a philosophy of beauty, many go for cosmetic surgery procedures to alter what they think does not look good on them or improve it to look better.

In the early 1990s many women other than their faces put much thinking to their upper thighs and if they considered altering or try to improve on the look of any feature on their bodies, it was the upper thighs. They always considered liposuction. Though it’s not done much these days, it is, but commonly in the abdomen area. The most opted for procedures are facial and breast uplifts, changes in size and shape of ears & noses and skin injections to straighten out facial wrinkles.
Cosmetic dentistry procedures like teeth whitening or bleaching, contouring, enamel shaping and gum uplifts are examples of cosmetic procedures or treatments that many people perform in their mouths in order to feel beautiful.

In the ancient times, two aspects where looked at to define ideal beauty.
For the Christians, it was the body and soul that made one beautiful, however they considered bodily beauty of a woman good if its appeal was spiritual and evil if only sexually attractive.
For the ancient Greeks, a beautiful body reflected a beautiful soul and proximity to the gods.

However, there are as many definitions and understandings of beauty as there people on this planet. Every one with their opinions and concepts to define what real beauty is.
Like in a local English saying borrowed from Italian language, “beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder". What one would consider being beauty may not be by another and that’s where the saying gets it right though this makes it no easier to define it.
One can define beauty depending on where, kind of society they come from, level of civilization and religious beliefs.

Although bodily beauty takes the biggest percentage in the description and definition of beauty, it’s because one gets the visual impression before knowing what is built in side her.
Inside every body molded out of rib-flesh of man by the creator, there reside the minds that determine one's intellectual capacity and the soul & heart responsible for one's behaviors and character.
Therefore the two elements compliment the body for the word beauty to carry full meaning.

The western world is where a lot of cosmetic surgery procedures are done to portray beauty in a language understood best in fashion world.
When one mentions of the western world, minds fly to the United States, but for this matter, it is believed that countries like Venezuela in South America is where cosmetic surgery procedures are done more than any other place on the surface of the globe.
That’s where their concept of beauty lies "beauty creation" and it’s for this reason that their girls always succeed in major beauty contests of the world like "miss world or miss universe".

The Middle East is where you find majority of human occupants of the area are Muslim Arabs; they too have their own understanding of beauty. If observed, you will notice that they have a certain degree of respect to bodily beauty which is hardly found among people of other different denominations.
They are always dressed in long dresses- hijab- and their heads covered which emphasizes the insignificance of physical appearance in defining beauty.

It is widely believed and accepted that ideal or real beauty of a woman is created by her looks, shape, size, heart and mind.
This philosophy suggests that every woman is beautiful in a unique way though it affirms the fact that it’s a pure and noble heart that defines real beauty. Therefore the definition of beauty is wide and multidimensional, for this reason women should free themselves from self-doubt and embrace their real beauty defined by themselves.
